TEZU,AUG 7- All Mishmi Students Union,All Lohit District Students Union & All Anjaw District Students Union collectively declared 12 hours “DAWN TO DUSK TOTAL BANDH” on 9th August 2018 in protest against harrassment and victimization of members of Mishmi community by arbitrary arrest and detention by state government / judiciary and demand for immediate release. The entire Mishmi race is deeply anguished by the unjustified and arbitrary arrest and detention of members of Mishmi community namely Mr. Behenso Pul (Former GS, AMSU),Mr. Legem Takaliang, (President, AMSU).Mr. Chowkhiya Tayang. (GS, AMSU).
Unions expressed the present actions of the government and judiciary has clearly demonstrated the malice and unequal treatment to Mishmis by overlooking even the repeated and most gruesome crimes committed against the members of the community mostly women & children where no high level inquiries in the likes of SIT have been instituted. Mishmi society like any other civilized society does not endorse acts of Mob vigilantism and taking law into hands, it will not tolerate one sided and arbitrary harassment, arrest, torture and false indictment of members of our community in name of law.
AMSU, AADSU and ALDSU on behalf entire of Mishmi race 1st phase of bandh at Mishmi belt Anjaw & Lohit district as a part of the bandh in demand for “ IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED MEMBERS OF OUR SOCIETY”.Unions also cleared that if the government fails to fulfill their demand then there will be immidiate bandh with 2nd phase with 48 hours & 3rd phase of bandh will be indefinite in the entire Mishmi belt till the objectives of the enforced bandh are met. However, essential and emergency public services like all vehicles of Defence services, Ambulances/Medical duty vehicles, Magistrates on Duty and Milk vans are exempted from the purview of the enforced bandh.
