ARUNACHAL RISING BUT YET TO RISE FOR FLOOD VICTIMS OF 2004

Flooded & forgotten
NAMSAI, 16th Mar: Nearly 14 years after the devastating floods of 2004 in three villages Mabira,Morapat & mazgao under Chongkham circle of Namsai district are still awaiting assistance from government.
“We feel like we’ve been forgotten,” said one of the flood victim “We want people to know that we’re still here, that the flood of 2004 is not over yet, we are still struggling for our basic rights land and identity of the village after the devastating flood.
We appealed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu to help us..Said the Gao Burah .
North East Human Rights Organization (NEHRO-AP) also reached the villages in forest reserve area under Namsai district where the victims are temporarily settled since 2007 without any basic amenities from government.
