ITANAGAR, Aug 23: The Asthi of Bharat Ratna and Former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee arrived at Itanagar on Thursday evening .Thousands paid tribute to the departed soul comprising of students, technocrats, bureaucrats ,political leaders from different parties and public .
To pay last tribute Public Darshan was also organized by the state government at Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre where states top who is who were present to pay their homage. The Condolence ceremony was held in full state gourd of honor.
Recalling, the life and contribution of former Prime Minister, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said ‘Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the symbol of unity, which never differentiates anyone on any ground including in parliament on party basis such was his personality. ‘His death has created unparallel void in the country as well as in the world which is un -reparable ‘added Khandu while stating that ‘
While narrating the historic achievement of nuclear test under former Prime Minister AB Vajpayee, Khandu said he was man of mission, whose first love is his nation who despite the caution from USA has successfully tested and made India a Nuclear powered country.
He was a poet; writer and a prime minister who had always focus on the upliftment of underprivileged and youths. There are many things to learn from him, specially the youths to carry forward his ideology for the country.
Acknowledging his contribution for North east, Khandu said ‘separate Ministry for Northeast known as DoNER is the initiative of former Prime Minister to focus on the development and upliftment of all North east regions, asserted Chief Minister.
Remembering the old golden days spent with former Prime Minister, president State BJP, Tapir Gao said ‘ Former PM was an inspiration for all and a discipline person . ‘ whenever I met him , he used to ask me about Arunachal , though that time we have no BJP government in the state but he used to motivate us to continue the works for the people .
In the condolence programme, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh BD Mishra also shared his experience when he was in Army officer under the former Prime Minister Atal B Vajpayee.
Among others, representatives from different political parties like MLA , National People’s Party (NPP) Mutchu Mithi, Indian National Conress representative Rajen Nani and others also shared their condolence .
The Asthi (Ashes) will be flown to Parshuram Kund situated in Lohit district and will be immersed there on August 24.
