Awareness on breast cancer by united charity on international women’s day

ITANAGAR, 8th Mar: Along with the rest of the nation, Itanagar based NGO United Charity also celebrated International Women’s Day  here at Siddhartha Hall  in Itanagar on Thursday. To mark the day United Charity organized awareness campaign on  Breast Cancer  with the theme-“Don’t be shy; don’t be afraid. Let’s be aware of Breast Cancer.

Addressing the gathering, Minister for Food & Civil Supply, WRD, Geology & Mining Kamlung Mossang stressed on peoples participation and collective effort from every nook of the society to aware about the breast cancer.  While appreciating UC and state Cancer Society, he added  It is because of the negligence and shy to communicate with elders and parents the cancer which can be cured in the early stage gets worse, he said.

Senior Radiologist & Oncologist, Dr Sam Tsering in his power point presentation briefed on various stages which lead to breast cancer. It is very rare to find cases where girls below age 20 years are found infected by breast cancer. But it does not mean it can’t happen there is cure for every type of cancer but at the early stage. He asked the girls to be bold and not be shy to approach the doctors in case of any sign of cancer, he said.
