ITANAGAR, May 14: Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society today expressed its resentment over the appointments of new members in Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women .
Addressing the media person at Press Club, President APWWS Bengia Dipti Tadar claimed that authority has appointed three members in the Commission defying all the laid down norms. ‘As per RTI Documents it has been divulged that three members who were appointed as Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Member of the Commission by the concern authority has never applied for the said post, moreover their names were also not mentioned in the empanelled list recommended by the outgoing 4th body of the APSCW which is mandatory process’ stated the President.
She further added that, one out three member is Non-APST, where as it has been clearly mentioned in the Commission’s Act that all members should be from APST only. “So we urged the concern authority to rectify the illegally and arbitrary appointments made by the 5th body of APSCW.
When asked about probability of political adjustment behind the appointments, she categorically asserted that APWWS has no issue about political affiliation of any members but the appointments should not be made defying the laid down norms of the Commission.
‘We met Chief Minister Pema Khandu and submitted the representation seeking his intervention on the whole scenario.’Moreover responding to our representation, he has assured us to look into the matter within one week’ said General Secretary APWWS Kani Nada Maling stating that APWWS may resort to their own protest if authority failed respond their demands.
