ITANAGAR, Aug 30: All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) has welcomed the statement made by the Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Minister for Law & Justice Kiren Rijiju to relocate the Chakma & Hajong community from the state.
The vexed Chakma & Hajong issue is the long pending unresolved issue of the state, for which many students leaders and others had sacrificed their lives, said General Secretary ANSU- Gora Rikam while speaking to reporters.
As a human being we respect them, and even we have offered them our lands and facilities as a guest since last six decades but now they have to leave this place, said Rikam . He also expressed his resentment that, instead of acknowledging our favour, they captured our land and encroaches of forest lands. So times have come for them to wrap up and leave this land.
Chakma-Haojong is here for temporary, and people of Arunachal will never accept them as indigenous people. Moreover,it is a good gesture for the them to resolve the long pending issue and support the decision for relocation.
Further, Rikam also condemn the recent letter from ULFA (I) addressed to the Chief Minister to grant PRC to Assamese native residing in Arunachal. “ How far the letter is authentic we also don’t know, but ULFA(I) shouldn’t not interfere in the internal matter of Arunachal Pradesh and refrain from issuing any statement that is not possible to be implemented in Arunachal, said ANSU General Secretary.
