NAMSAI, Aug 31: All Tai Khamti Singpho Students Union (ATKSSU),All Namsai District Students Union (ANDSU) and All Namsai Area Youth Association (ANAYA) in their joint press statement has welcomed the decision of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Minister –Law & Justice to deport Chakma-Hajong from Arunachal.
Speaking to reporters, President ATKSSU Chow Kohana Chowpoo stated ‘the Chakma- Hajong issue is a vexed issue, but now the government has brought a positive solution to relocate them with dignity and honour .So, Chakma –Hajong people should appreciate the government for such decision as they with get their dignity and identity in their new place.
Further, he also condemned some vested interest Chakma-Hajong people who are criticizing the both Chief Minister and Union Minister for the bold decision.
While terming Tai-Kamti society is the most affected society due to the vexed Chakma-Hajong issue , President ANAYA Chow Kyawon Singkai urged the people of the state to support the government at this decision to end the vexed issue once and for all.
We don’t have any enmity with Chakma-Hajong people, but we had shared almost 30% of our recourses since many decades. Whereas we all know that we have a very limited resources for our won people, so if govt is saying to relocate them it’s a great opportunity for them to get citizenship also, added Singkai.
Meanwhile, trio union has condemned the ULFA(I) for issuing letter to CM of Arunachal to grant PRC. Though we don’t know that how far letter is authentic but urged ULFA(I) to refrain from interfering in the internal matter of Arunachal. Union also urged the state government to make clear on the authentication of the letter.
