CHANGLANG , Jan 29: The fate of 2 workers of a Quippo Oil & Gas Ltd: company remains unknown months after they were kidnapped by ULFA (I) from Innao, Changlang district on December 21 last.
Superintendent of Police,Changlang – Mihin Gambo informed that search and rescue operation is still going on in all the strategic locations but no breakthrough has been yet. While responding to the query on reports of the ultimatum given by the ULFA (I), SP said we have heard through media that February 16 has been given as an ultimatum to the Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited to take steps for the release of their two employees; however, the Police team is also investigating the matter.
He also informed that higher authority from PHQ is in constant touch with the family members of both the employees and also with the Quippo Oil & Gas Ltd: company.
On January 20 last, ULFA(I) released a video of the two employees recorded in unknown location pleading for their lives and seeking help from the Chief Minister of Bihar and Assam. Recently on January 27 last, the militant group has threatened to execute the abducted employee of Quippo Oil & Gas company hailing from Bihar if the oil drilling firm failed to pay for his release by February 16.
Earlier, on December 21 last, unidentified people abducted PK Gogoi (51) and Ram Kumar (35) on gunpoint from Innao, Changlang district.
